Penthouse in Malta

I was fortunate enough to fly to Malta for a month with a client in July 2012 to relocate her from South Africa.
Renovating this home was a wonderful experience on a level that Malta operates on a very different attitude and speed to South Africa. Not being able to go to my local suppliers and rely on products I know, I took a lot of the tools and touch up gems with me. The rest was an interesting journey to locate.
This was one of the first projects where I had no help whatsoever and realised leaning on my team in South Africa is truly a luxury! In 40 degrees heat every day, I scraped, plastered, sanded and painted every wall in the penthouse. From one end of the penthouse to the other, inside the cupboards, under the stairs and all the ceilings… I was on a ladder with roller in hand.
I changed 90% of the light fittings in this place and where I didn’t change them. I painted them. The before and after photos speak for themselves. I lost 5kgs through sweating, swam every morning in the Mediterranean sea… I would go back tomorrow.
Malta is a Southern European country consisting of an archipelago situated in the center of the Mediterranean, 80 km south of Sicily, 284 km east of Tunisia and 333 km north of Libya.
